The spirit or 'supersense' experience of the landscape since graduating from York University with a B.F.A. have deeply interested me.  This was the main focus of my art for more than 30 years until recently, when this spirit and energy ‘translated’ into abstract painting.

The Tarot - Interpreted is a series of 22 abstract paintings and geometric drawings. Exhibitions of the work have been held at The Arts and Letters Club, Toronto (2022) and Novah Gallery, North Bay (2023).

In 2022, I returned to creating drawings and paintings based on landscape. A Project that I organized with involvement of the Ontario Society of Artists (OSA) and Dermot Wilson of Broken Forest Group titled ‘Standing Up for Ontario’s Old Growth Forest’ was part of the OSA 150th Anniversary Year. This was followed by involvement with the OSA, Broken Forest Group and the Escarpment Corridor Alliance for artists to work and bring attention to a large tract of land near Collingwood that we hoped to save from residential and various club development.

Paintings have been exhibited across Canada, and in Mexico, Colombia, London, England; and Paris, France. The work represented Canada in a group exhibit at the XXI Olympics. It is also in private collections of respected collectors and companies as well as in public collections including ArtBank, The Robert McLaughlin Gallery, The GalleryStratford, University of Toronto Collections, McGibbon Centre, Baycerst Centre,  and the Archives of Ontario.

India; London, England; Paris, France; Florence, Rome and Milano, Italy are all places I have traveled and spent time. I have also lived or traveled extensively throughout Canada, the U.S and Mexico. These many social, cultural and scenic influences are reflected in and also inform the landscape as well as the abstract paintings.

I served as President of the Ontario Society of Artists receiving the OSA President’s Award for Service and artistic merit in 2013 and continue to actively contribute to the art community as an active  member of the Board of the John B. Aird Gallery, Toronto as well as the Ontario Society of Artists. In 2017, I received the Eleanor Besen Financial Award as a professional artist and for contributions to the art community.
